Cheap Berley

If you don't have the cash to waste on a bag of mulies for berley or you just can't find any, then there is an alternative.

Next time you do the grocery shopping, grab a couple of large tins of Black & Gold brand cat food (pilchards in aspic works the best). It's cheap, no mess and gives an excellent berley trail complete with an oil slick!

Just empty the contents into your berley bucket and mash away. Or, if you don't have a berley bucket, just punch some holes in the tin and suspend it with a bit of heavy duty fishing line or thin rope from the side of your boat or the jetty. Remember to take your empty tins back to the ramp for disposal. *meow*
